Tell us about your family.
I married my beautiful wife Alexi, whom I dearly love, in 1999. She & I met in graduate school. Alexi loves us & her friends with great faithfulness. We have 3 girls: Elisabeth, Diane & Kelsie. Elisabeth is outgoing & energetic, Diane is always happy but quiet, and Kelsie charges boldly into any new situation.
How did you end up at New Life Church?
I grew up going to church, but didn't go when I first came to U of M. I later got involved in a few Bible studies that didn't really pan out. The next summer I got involved with a small group at Ohio State, where I became a follower of Jesus. It was that fall that I got involved in New Life & fell in love with the people & with what God was doing here!
Why are you still here?
I went away for graduate school, then served several years with another church in Missouri. It was there that God led me back to "my roots" at New Life. It was a tough decision, but one that God had confirmed, leaving no doubt that we were to serve here at New Life. We are still here because the college years were critical for me in discovering what I believed. As a result, I love to help others discover Jesus in their own journey.
What do you do here?
I love helping people grow in their relationship with God, in their understanding of the Bible, and in discovering their role in God's Kingdom. As a result I lead the Off-Campus student New Life Team--the OC, on the leadership team for NLC campus, and provide opportunities for equipping people in the Bible & theology.
